Responsibilities:

Test analysts are responsible for ensuring the application functions as per the user’s requirements before
its release. Some of their duties include:

• Coordinating with the development team through all the phases of the SDLC to get a detailed and
  high-level overview of the application
• Going through the application requirements and design documents to understand a system’s designs, components and interactions, which can help with developing robust test cases
• Developing comprehensive testing structures that test the overall functionality of the product
  along with each component’s functionality and behaviour
• Creating a test strategy in collaboration with business analysts, project managers and developers
  that aligns with the company’s standards
• Developing detailed test plans, cases and scripts that cover various scenarios and conditions
• Setting up and configuring test environments
• Preparing test data that reflects real-world scenarios
• Collecting and analysing relevant testing metrics, such as test coverage and execution progress,
  and defect density
