Responsibilities:

Test engineers are responsible for ensuring software applications’ quality, functionality and reliability.
Some of their duties include:

• Coordinating with the development team, business analysts and the product owner to get an indepth understanding of the application and learn the testing requirements
• Going through the application requirements and design documents, and coordinating with test
  analysts to prepare strategies, including functional, system, integration, user acceptance and performance testing
• Selecting test cases, scenarios and scripts for comprehensive testing
• Preparing the test data and ensuring its availability, integrity and relevance
• Setting up and configuring test environments, including software installations, hardware configurations and network setups
• Using test automation frameworks to save time, improve coverage and reduce manual errors
• Analysing the results and evaluating the quality of software using different metrics, such as test
  efficiency, automation coverage and pass rate
• Collaborating with the testing and development team to ensure the effectiveness of tests
• Creating and maintaining documentation, including test plans, cases, scripts and reports
